On 16-18 October 2013, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in cooperation with the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) organized a workshop on “Development of Level 3 Probabilistic Safety Analysis and Related Issues” which was held in Warsaw. The workshop was organized within the IAEA TC RER/9/125 concerning “Strengthening Nuclear Safety Assessment Capabilities Through the use of the Safety Assessment, Education and Training (SAET)” Programme.
On 5-6 November 2013 the PAA, at its headquarters, hosted the next bilateral meeting between the representatives of PAA and the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic (UJD SR). The meeting was dedicated to nuclear safety, legislative solutions and plans regarding future research to be conducted jointly in the field of nuclear reactors safety.
Representatives of PAA and PGE discussed key issues relating to the implementation of Polish Nuclear Power Program
On 29 October in the headquarters of the National Atomic Energy Agency the first meeting was held this year between the representatives of PAA and senior managers of PGE EJ 1 Sp z o.o. Company.
An international team of experts which met with the representatives of PAA in order to conduct an Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) mission, formally requested by the Government of Poland, praised the Agency for transparency, high qualifications of staff, active role on the international level and compliance with safety standards. The review team also prepared recommendations which are meant to help PAA deal with challenges regarding the development of the regulatory body in the next few years.
